Sounds and singing of whales

Humpback whales are one of the most amazing creatures on the Earth. Their length reaches 15 meters, and their weight is about 30 tons. But not their length and weight make these marine mammals so well-known.

These humpbacks have become so famous owing to the sounds and singing they produce during migration, mating season, and without any reason at all.

In fact, scientists still have no idea why these whales can sing. But the most amazing thing about it is that their “repertoire” is very and very various, and it varies from herd to herd. Among their sounds you can distinguish mooing, squeaking, grunting, rumbling, and so on.

It`s widely believed that their vibrations and tonality benefit human health. Whale sounds help relax, fall asleep, and calm.

On our site you can listen to the sounds of whales recorded by the scientists and researchers from the Oceania Project.

You will hear the sounds of three whales called Gabriel, Bala, and Nanda. They were found near the shores of Australia.

We hope that you will like our atmosphere.
